Witness of the Farewell
Wabisa ibn Ma’bad was a Companion present at the Farewell Sermon of the Prophet ﷺ, who had charged his hearers: “Let those who are present convey this to those who are absent.”
A Voice for the Sermon
In his later years, in the city of al-Raqqa, Wabisa would stand each year on the days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha in the largest mosque of the city and recite to the people what he had heard from the Prophet ﷺ that day — of the sanctity of Muslim blood, wealth and honour, and the trust of which he had asked their witness — bearing his own witness in turn, year after year. 1 Hayatus Sahaba · Vol 3 · pp. 280–281 — Kandhlawi — Wabisa recites the Farewell Sermon at the Eid in the great mosque of al-Raqqa, fulfilling the Prophet's command to convey it.
