On the Prophet’s ﷺ Shoulder in Prayer
Umamah was the daughter of Zaynab bint Muhammad ﷺ, eldest daughter of the Prophet ﷺ, and of Abu al-As ibn al-Rabi’. Abu Qatada al-Ansari narrated that the Prophet ﷺ would pray while she was on his shoulder:
”…and he was carrying Umamah bint Zaynab the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When he prostrated, he put her down, and when he stood, he carried her again.”
