A Dream of Martyrdom
Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Haram was an Ansari of Banu Salima and the father of Jabir. Before Uhud he dreamt of a Badr martyr who told him he would soon join them; when he related it, the Prophet ﷺ said, “Such is martyrdom, O Abu Jabir.” 1 Hayatus Sahaba · Vol 3 · pp. 662 — Kandhlawi — Abdullah ibn Amr's dream of a Badr martyr before Uhud; the Prophet's words, 'Such is martyrdom, O Abu Jabir.'
Shaded by the Angels
He was martyred at Uhud. When his son Jabir wept and uncovered his face, the Prophet ﷺ told him that, whether he wept or not, the angels had kept shading him with their wings until his body was borne away — a mark of his honour before Allah. 2 Hayatus Sahaba · Vol 3 · pp. 549 — Kandhlawi — the Prophet tells Jabir the angels kept shading his martyred father with their wings.
