The First Blood-Debt Waived

In the Farewell Sermon, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ declared:

“All blood-money due during the Period of Ignorance is also waived, and the first that I wish to waive is that of the son of Rabi’a ibn al-Harith whom the Hudhayl tribe killed while he was still a suckling infant with the Banu Sa’d tribe. All the interest due during the Period of Ignorance is also waived, and the first that I wish to waive is that which was due to al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib…” 1 Hayatus Sahaba · Vol 3 · pp. 415, 417 — Kandhlawi — the Prophet ﷺ in the Farewell Sermon names the son of Rabi'a ibn al-Harith as the first blood-debt waived; cited via Muslim, al-Bidaya Vol. 5 p. 148; Abu Dawud; Ibn Maja.
