The Egyptian of the Prophet’s ﷺ Household
Maria al-Qibtiyya was a Copt of Egypt, sent to the Prophet ﷺ as a gift by the Muqawqis, the ruler of Egypt, among other presents. 1 History of Islam · Vol 1 · pp. 247 — Najeebabadi — the Muqawqis of Egypt sends Maria to the Prophet among his gifts.
Mother of Ibrahim
In Madinah Maria bore the Prophet ﷺ a son, Ibrahim — his only child after Khadija’s children — born in 8 AH; the Prophet ﷺ rejoiced at him and performed his aqiqah, though Ibrahim died in infancy. Maria lived on, honoured, until her death in 16 AH, in the caliphate of Umar, and was buried in Jannat al-Baqi. 2 Seerat-e-Mustafa · Vol 3 · pp. 373 — Idris Kandhlawi — Maria the mother of Ibrahim; her death in 16 AH and burial in al-Baqi.
