Twenty Days in the Prophet’s ﷺ Company

Malik ibn al-Huwayrith narrated: “We were a few youngsters of similar ages when we came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and stayed with him for twenty days. When he sensed that we were yearning for home, he asked us about our families and we told him about them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was extremely compassionate and merciful, so he said to us: ‘You may return home. You should however teach your families the Deen you have learnt, instruct them in it, and perform your salah as you have seen me performing salah. When the time for salah arrives, one of you should call out the Adhan and the eldest among you should lead the salah.’” 1 Hayatus Sahaba · Vol 3 · pp. 233 — Kandhlawi — Malik ibn Huwayrith's twenty days; cited via Bukhari Adab p.33.
