At the Prophet’s ﷺ Side

al-Fadl ibn al-Abbas was the eldest son of al-Abbas and elder brother of Abdullah ibn Abbas, reaching Madinah as a boy in the year of the Trench. 1 Hayatus Sahaba · Vol 1 · pp. 373 — Kandhlawi — Fadl reached Madinah at the time of the Trench, aged about 13. At Hunayn, when the army was scattered in the first onset, he was among the few who stood firm beside the Prophet ﷺ — with Abu Bakr, Umar, Ali, his father al-Abbas and Abu Sufyan ibn al-Harith. 2 History of Islam · Vol 1 · pp. 225 — Najeebabadi — Fadl among those who held their ground beside the Prophet at Hunayn.

At the Prophet’s ﷺ End

In the Prophet’s ﷺ final illness, Fadl helped him into the mosque for his last prayer, supporting him with Usama; and when the Prophet ﷺ died, Fadl was among those who washed his blessed body and lowered him into the grave. 3 History of Islam · Vol 1 · pp. 244–246 — Najeebabadi — Fadl supports the Prophet to his last prayer, then helps wash his body and lay him in the grave. He fell in the great plague of Amwas in Syria in 18 AH.
