The Dream That Came True
Atika bint Abd al-Muttalib was an aunt of the Prophet ﷺ. Three nights before the Quraysh marched out for Badr, she dreamt of a rider on a camel halting in the valley of Bathaa and crying, “O people of treachery! Set out for the place of your doom — within three days!” The rider then climbed the Ka’ba and the heights of Mount Abu Qubays and hurled down a great boulder; its splinters flew into every house in Makkah. 1 Seerat-e-Mustafa · Vol 1 · pp. 230–231 — Idris Kandhlawi — Atika's dream three nights before Badr: the rider in the valley and the boulder whose splinters reach every house. She told it to her brother al-Abbas, who confided it to Walid ibn Utba — and the rumour spread through Makkah. Abu Jahl mocked it openly. Then Damdam al-Ghifari rode in with Abu Sufyan’s call to arms — and within those three days the Quraysh marched out to the rout at Badr. 2 Seerat-e-Mustafa · Vol 1 · pp. 240 — Idris Kandhlawi — the dream is confirmed by Damdam's arrival; the Quraysh march out to Badr.
